About the PE Teacher Role

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Plan and prepare lessons to meet a range of abilities and fitness levels

  • Teach a variety of sports and physical activities

  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles

  • Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and ensure pupils' safety during practical lessons

  • Encourage participation and engagement in physical activity

  • Work collaboratively with the PE department and contribute to wider school sporting activities

The Ideal PE Teacher Will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification

  • Have experience teaching PE at secondary level

  • Be confident delivering practical lessons across a range of sports and activities

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Be committed to supporting the progress and development of all pupils

  • Be committed to safeguarding children and young people

  • Provide details of the two most recent references, covering the last five years' work history

  • Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of registration

  • Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy the required safeguarding and compliance checks
