About the Role

Start Date: January 2027
Job Type: Full-Time, Long-Term / Ongoing

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons.

  • Teaching English Language and Literature in line with the national curriculum.

  • Supporting students in developing their reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills.

  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

  • Maintaining effective classroom management and positive behaviour.

  • Adapting lessons to support students with different learning abilities.

  • Working alongside colleagues to contribute to the wider school environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.

  • Previous secondary school teaching experience.

  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A positive, enthusiastic and supportive approach.
